Made in Jacksonville (Friday 9/15/23)

Sample some of the most popular products made in Jacksonville and enjoy the sites of all things made in the city. After departing from the hotel, you will soon discover the city’s deep regard for all things related to food and drink. Jacksonville caters to gourmands and countless products are made locally, including Maxwell House coffee whose iconic “Good to the Last Drop” coffee cup logo can be seen atop the factory.

Our first stop is the home of Sweet Pete’s candy factory. The owner Pete is like the resident Willy Wonka making a variety of candy treats. Try the salted caramel, their signature item. There is also a viewing area to see the candy being made and a separate viewing area of the packaging room.

Our next stop is Martin Coffee, Jacksonville’s original craft coffee roaster. We will see the production facility and enter a tasting room to sample the world’s finest 100% Arabica coffee beans.

Next we take a driving tour including a stop at Treaty Oak where you will have the opportunity to take a photo of the oldest living thing made in Jacksonville. We continue through Jacksonville’s historical San Marco neighborhood to tour the original Peterbrooke Chocolatier. Although the company’s signature item is chocolate-covered popcorn, you will see plenty of other irresistible sweets. Peterbrooke is also known for decadent truffles, hand-dipped strawberries, milk chocolate potato chips, and even dark chocolate pizza.

Afterwards, you will have free time in San Marco Square to browse the boutique neighborhood shops before returning to the hotel. Your personal tour guide creates an interactive tour atmosphere which is fun for everyone.
